Rowcroft created some precious moments for Mags after hearing of her love of owls.

From Rowcroft Hospice on 1st May 2018 Rowcroft created some precious moments for Mags after hearing of her love of owls.

Because every day matters... When mum was admitted to Rowcroft’s Inpatient Unit the hospice team quickly realised she had a deep love of owls. Keen to create precious moments for her and our family to treasure, Gilli, Rowcroft’s Volunteer Services Co-ordinator contacted Torbay Owls and Company who were delighted to help. Whilst at Rowcroft, mum received a visit from four owls and their handler Jan and enjoyed a unique and unforgettable experience with the birds she loves. This special encounter was shared with her nephew, Jeremy and even me, who video called from my home in Switzerland. Mary Glancy, Healthcare Assistant at Rowcroft said: “Mags was surprised and delighted by the visit on the Saturday; she just couldn’t believe we’d organised it especially for her! What made it even more special was the fact that her daughter got to be part of it, all the way from Switzerland. It was an unforgettable moment for the family, and all the staff and volunteers here were very excited about the visit too!” It is thanks to your support that Rowcroft will continue to help thousands of families like ours to make memories to treasure for a lifetime.#preciousmoments
